As a wedding photographer, I often get asked about the new trends in weddings. There is one that immediately comes top of mind, and that's having dogs at your wedding.

If you are planning a wedding and are concerned that you don't have a dog and may be missing out, don't worry! But, if you do have a dog or dogs and think they shouldn't miss out on the celebrations, this article is for you.

How can my dog be part of the wedding?

On this page, you will see many examples of how dogs have joined in the wedding day celebrations and the tremendous boost they have given to the wedding photographs!

Each dog is different, and the owners have thought about which parts of the day are best for them to appear. The examples here include bridal preparations, ideal for a picture of the dog 'protecting the dress'; sometimes, the dog(s) will appear for the bride & groom portraits, having been brought in by a friend. Some couples have even walked their dogs down the aisle with them!

I love photographing the connection between the dog(s) and the couple. Although brides are often understandably nervous about muddy paws coming into contact with a white dress!
