Loch Lomond Weddings
If you have yet to decide where to get married and are looking for Scotland wedding venues, this article may tempt you to choose Loch Lomond and the Trossachs as your dream Scotland wedding location.
In this guide, I'll share my local knowledge of Loch Lomond wedding venues, many of which I have photographed weddings at.
Loch Lomond Waterfront Weddings
Many couples look to get married in a waterfront setting, and in beautiful Loch Lomond, you can't blame them. Let me give you an overview of the lochside wedding venues.
Loch Lomond Waterfront, Balmaha
As the name suggests, Loch Lomond Waterfront is right by the loch, on the eastern shores of Loch Lomond at beautiful Balmaha. I have photographed many weddings here, just a few miles from where I am. A collection of lodges makes this venue excellent for family and friends who want to stay overnight, with more accommodation nearby.
Wedding ceremonies are by the water's edge at a private beach, and the venue is ideal for weddings of all sizes. Some of the weddings I have photographed have been Loch Lomond elopements and so small that I've been a witness.

Cameron House on Loch Lomond
A large, 5-star resort, the most prestigious in Loch Lomond, provides a grand setting by the water's edge, with the Loch Lomond Sea Plane nearby. Cameron House on Loch Lomond is by Balloch on the western shores of Loch Lomond and has an excellent wedding team that can help you plan your wedding day.

The Cruin, Loch Lomond
You will find The Cruin, a superb wedding venue between Balloch and Luss. Like Cameron House on Loch Lomond, it can cater for larger weddings and has beautiful outdoor space, ideal for ceremonies. I especially like the jetty, which is excellent for wedding photography of the happy couple.

Lodge on Loch Lomond, Luss
One of the most popular Loch Lomond wedding venues, the hotel at Luss, can stage two weddings simultaneously. Depending on the number of guests, there are two different spaces for weddings at the Luss Hotel.
The Lodge on Loch Lomond has its beach and jetty, plus it is close to the village, so often couples take a stroll for pictures on its pier and by the pretty cottages.

More Loch Lomond Wedding Venues
If a lochside wedding venue isn't a deal breaker, let me tell you about another couple of Loch Lomond wedding venues that I promise won't disappoint.
Ardoch, Gartocharn
This exclusive-use venue has the most spectacular views of Ben Lomond and Loch Lomond from its elevated position close to the southern end of the loch. The inside of the venue is modern, and it is a beautiful building. All profits from this venue go to the nearby CHAS Children's Hospice at Balloch.
Botourich Castle, Balloch
Botourich Castle is another excellent Loch Lomond wedding venue, with incredible views of Ben Lomond and Loch Lomond that will take your breath away. The inside space is stunning with panoramic windows, so you are always close to the incredible views.

Get Married in the Trossachs
If you're still wondering where to get married in Loch Lomond and want further options, let me throw in the Trossachs, which, along with Loch Lomond, is part of the National Park. Here are some Trossachs wedding venues that are very special.
Altskeith Country House on Loch Ard
Altskeith Country House on Loch Ard is an excellent option for those considering a small to medium-sized wedding at a lochside venue. Altskeith has lovely grounds by Loch Ard, with the magnificent backdrop of Ben Lomond. These are ideal for outdoor ceremonies. I love this wedding venue, especially as owners Alison and Yas are so good at what they do, including fantastic food.

Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa
Forest Hills is a little further alongside Loch Ard. Its elevated location provides excellent unspoilt views and has a good area for outdoor weddings.
Scotland Wedding Venues
We are certainly spoilt for choice in Scotland for wedding venues. But it's easy to see why Loch Lomond is a popular wedding destination. Not only are Loch Lomond and the Trossachs beautiful, with some incredible wedding venues, but they are easy to access, close to Scotland's most prominent cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh and more accessible than many other parts of Scotland.
Planning a wedding in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs
The most significant piece of the wedding preparation jigsaw puzzle is getting the location and venue right. I hope that these ideas are helpful to you.
I've created another website, See Loch Lomond, with lots of guides to Loch Lomond & The Trossachs, which provide a wealth of information about the area; I've even published a book, '101 Things to do in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs'.
