In this article, I wanted to share some magical moments where newly married couples took the opportunity to row a boat on the loch. For many, this was the highlight of their wedding day, something special and unique, a memory that will last forever.
Loch Ard Wedding Photographs
The loch needs to be pretty calm for this to be a success, so it can only happen sometimes. But boy, when the conditions are perfect, especially as the sun is starting to set, we all get pretty giddy with excitement.
Ben Lomond Photographs
As you can see from the pictures, Loch Ard, in the Trossachs, has Ben Lomond looming over it. Scotland's most southerly Munro (a mountain over 3,000ft) has an incredible presence. The backdrop of Ben Lomond or Altskeith House makes for some memorable wedding photographs.
Beyond just the visual beauty of the setting, the couple always has a laugh and enjoys a little time just the two of them.
Photographing Special Wedding Moments
If you're wondering where I am, I'm either in another boat or on the shore, capturing lots of lovely pictures with a long lens; it's almost a paparazzi moment!
Sometimes I'll whisk the couple off from the reception for the boat trip, having already discovered that they want to do it. Generally, what happens next is that once they're out on the boat, their guests come out to watch and cheer them on.
